Nirvikalpa is a filmmaking professional and a documentary filmmaker who has successfully written, shot, directed and edited over 6 long-form documentaries. The topics of his films largely cover the ecological and human capital devastation that the mainstream narrative of ‘development’ engenders.
He has been making socially relevant and entertaining films for supporting movements, communities and companies. He has been involved in making videos and video leaflets for several political campaigns and movements. He occasionally holds filmmaking workshops for children and Adivasis.
Nirvikalpa’s last film, Devi’s Dilemma, was on the aftermath of the Kedarnath floods, and the causes that led up to it. His latest film, The Devi Chronicles, explores the myth and culture of Nanda Devi, the mountain, and the Goddess.
