Geetha Krishnan focuses on building the digital blended learning portfolio of IIHS and enhancing its executive education platform. He is responsible for all choices, approaches and processes that enable IIHS to enhance its learning footprint to a wide swathe of audiences across the urban landscape, to enable effective and sustained urban transformation.
Geetha has a strong and diverse background and interest in advertising and marketing, instructional design, curriculum development, online learning, executive education, institutional partnerships and organisational strategy. He also has rich experience in operational roles, a first-hand top management perspective of business issues and in-depth experience in defining and implementing learning strategies at the organisational level, for organisations across the world.
In a corporate career spanning over more than 25 years, Geetha has played varied senior leadership roles in diverse sectors such as academia, online learning, and advertising.
In his last role as Director – Centre for Executive Education at the Indian School of Business, Geetha was the head of the profit centre comprising more than 50 diverse programs encompassing all aspects of management education. He was also involved in leading two key focus areas for ISB. One, he defined the initial approach of the School’s online learning strategy and spearheaded its foray into online learning by enabling their partnership with Coursera. Two, he ran the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women initiative at ISB for seven years, providing business and management education, business support services and mentoring support to more than 1300 women business owners across the country.
In his earlier role as Head – Consulting and Proposals at online learning major Tata Interactive Systems, Geetha headed the group that was responsible for design and pre-sales solution development. He was also a member of the Executive Committee, a core group of leaders who constituted the top management team of the organisation.
Apart from his management and leadership experience, Geetha is a regular speaker and educator on different forums to diverse audiences on online learning, strategy development and leadership and change management. His TEDx talk titled ‘The Technology Affected Learner’ may be found here.
Geetha also has the advantage of a strong background in instructional design and content development, and the experience of being a Lead Assessor in the Tata Business Excellence Model (a Tata-group adaptation of the Malcolm Baldrige Model).
