Prasanna Nagaraj has 17 years of experience in commercial advertising and documentary filmmaking.
During 2009–10 and 2013–14, he was chosen as a Training Coordinator by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Municipal Administration Department, to conduct 16 national exposure visits for elected representatives and officials of Urban Local Bodies, funded by the World Bank.
He also has experience in event management and television programme production from his role as a consultant for Sun Television Network and Star Television Network. In 2016, he conducted extensive research of Ramayana to showcase its authenticity and directed a 26-episode programme titled ‘Hanuman’, produced by a Malaysian Channel ‘Astro Television Network’, which was telecast in Vinmeen channel in Malaysia. He also conducted research and headed a documentary on the culture and livelihood of the people in Jammu and Kashmir, as its director.
Since 2023, he has been serving as an honorary member of an Advisory Committee and Task Force Committee, in the Department of Tourism, Government of Tamil Nadu.
He holds a degree in BSc Visual Communication from Sathyabama University, Tamil Nadu, and an MBA in finance and human resource. He is also a postgraduate diploma holder in public relations management.
He is a member of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Press People Association. Prasanna is currently engaged with the IIHS Urban Practitioners’ Programme. He plays a significant role in research and training in urban sanitation and project management.
