Anuttama has been a built environment professional for the past 15 years. She is an architect with a Masters degree in urban planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she won the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Outstanding Graduate Student Award in 2007. She has worked on site planning and architecture projects with the design wing of L&T ECC – the Engineering Research and Design Cell (EDRC). She has also worked on Transit Oriented Development (TOD)-related Urban Design projects with JHP Architecture/Urban Design based in Dallas, Texas. She was the in-house architect for DakshinaChitra – a museum dedicated to the architectural crafts of South India for a few years. During this time, she also worked as a programme manager for the museum’s arts’ festivals and seminars.
At IIHS, Anuttama is responsible for content design and delivery across urban missions. She has anchored and created content for AMRUT capacity building workshops in Engineering & Public Health, Town Planning & Elected Representatives verticals, across 6 states namely Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Jharkhand, Odisha and Jammu & Kashmir. Her teaching primarily focuses on two AMRUT sectors – Parks & Green Spaces and Non-Motorised Transport, but she also facilitates sessions that relate to her overall professional experience.
