Lokesh is an Associate with the Geospatial Lab at IIHS. He has three years of professional experience in the area of Geodata creation. At IIHS, Lokesh is building the GeoData Library of India while supporting the projects related to research and practice with Geospatial dataset. He has earlier worked on Geodatabase creation of buildings, transportation networks, land use classes and natural resources for various cities in Saudi Arabia, North America, China and India using satellite images, DEMs, Orthophotos and LiDAR dataset. Lokesh has been involved with several projects at IIHS including the CARIAA project – where he supported the team with their spatial data requirements and the YUVA project, where slum level maps were created for the City of Bhubaneshwar. He has also been part of the teaching team that has conducted courses on Maps, Google Earth and QGIS for the Urban Practitioners Programme and the Urban Fellows Programme.
