Practice

Arnab is an intern with the Academic and Research team at IIHS. He currently works on evaluating the role and performance of the Power Sector in India. He aims to find linkages between overall economic growth and the power sector if any, observing the spatial patterns between the evolution of power generation and distribution and state level industrial development.

 

His project is an extension of his under-graduate project titled ‘Power Sector Reforms in India: A Case Study on NTPC Ltd’ at NTPC Ltd, Kahalgaon Super Thermal Power Station. It broadly focused on finding whether the changes in the power tariff structures and various norms by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission has increased the techno-economic and operating efficiency level of the power plants of NTPC Ltd in India.

 

He is pursuing Masters in Science (Economics) with specialisation in Development Studies. His broad areas of interest are Macroeconomics, Development Economics, Microeconomics and Econometrics.

 

Arnab is an active volunteer at Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. He likes to read and is fond of music.
