Sukrita Baruah

Sukrita is interning with the Media Lab at IIHS. Her core areas of interest are cultural studies, history and critical media studies with a special focus on questions of gender, identity and representation. She is interested in practicing media as an arm of academic research. Her M.A. thesis will be an attempt to locate gender and the kind of subjectivity constructed for women prisoners in prison documents produced by the early post-independence Indian state.
