Soumya holds a postgraduate degree in Human Development, with a specialisation in Early Childhood Care and Education. She has prior teaching experience in the Dept of Home Science, Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She has also taught children in the age group of 2-10 years for close to a decade. Her areas of academic interest include – education for children with special needs and for children from underprivileged backgrounds.
As part of the IIHS Urban Fellows Programme administration team, Soumya is responsible for coordination with various individuals and teams at IIHS and other institutions, organisations and external vendors associated with IIHS. Her role broadly involves performing administrative tasks around the UFP which include outreach-related activities, admission processes and the nine-month UFP academic cycle.
