Shrinivas is an experienced water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) expert with a decade of significant involvement in leading pivotal projects and initiatives in this field. He has been a part of IIHS since October 2019.
He presented a paper titled ‘Grey Water Reuse for Climate Change Mitigation’ at an international conference organised by ESCI Hyderabad. Shrinivas conducted research on greywater management and the field test kit for water testing usage under Jal Jeevan Mission, benefitting urban local bodies (ULBs) and panchayats.
Previously, at Ernst & Young LLP, Shrinivas spearheaded initiatives, crafting policies for fecal sludge management in Varanasi city and organising impactful information, education and communication (IEC) and behavior change communication (BCC) activities. His contributions extended to the Directorate of Municipal Administration, Karnataka, and CDD Society Bangalore, where he demonstrated instrumental expertise in managing infrastructure projects, developing sanitation plans and executing biological fecal sludge treatment plants.
Shrinivas holds a BTech in Civil Engineering from NIT Surathkal, and an MTech in Sanitation Science, Technology, and Management from BITS Pilani. His strong academic background complements his extensive practical expertise. His proactive approach, commitment to research and community engagement underscore his pivotal role in the WASH domain, ensuring sustainable and impactful outcomes.
At IIHS’ Urban Practitioners’ Programme, Shrinivas is responsible for developing and executing strategies aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of various stakeholders involved in water and sanitation, both rural and urban. His responsibilities encompass government officials, local authorities, community leaders, water and sanitation professionals, and the general public.
