Shivukumar Pundaleekappa Rakkasagi
03 February 2020 - 30 September 2020 | Profile shared during internship at IIHSShivukumar has two years of work experience at Dream Home Construction, Pune. Currently he is pursuing M.Sc. in Geoinformatics from Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University, Gadag, Karnataka.
He obtained a sponsorship for his dissertation project work under ‘43rd Series of Student Project Programme: 2019-20’ from ‘Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, IISc, Bengaluru’.
He has also carried-out two months of internship project at RRSC – South, NRSC, ISRO, Department of Space, Government of India, Bengaluru.
The key areas of his research interest are urban & regional planning, water conservation, rural development, disaster management, climate change using remote sensing and GIS.
At IIHS, he supports the Geospatial Lab team with creating maps, documentation and literature survey for two cities each in India and Tanzania for the UPAGrI project and mapping for post-disaster recovery analysis for Odisha districts for the RwD project. He also assists with data creation for the IIHS Database.
