Oviya is interested in studying the politics of land transformations in the context of urban development. Most recently she has worked on understanding the nature of politics and resistance around land acquisition for a thermal power plant in Cheyyur, South Chennai.
At IIHS, Oviya works on projects dealing with industrial corridors and their implications on urbanisation.
