Manoj B Hegde is the Lead – Technical Assistance for the ASSURE Program at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS). An electrical and electronics engineer with over 16 years of experience in MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) design and project management, Manoj specializes in energy-efficient building technologies and sustainable infrastructure solutions.

 

Prior to joining IIHS, he spent 12 years at Infosys, where he played a key role in designing and executing 20 million sq ft of greenfield and retrofit projects. His work contributed to innovations in radiant cooling systems, water and wastewater treatment technologies, and high-performance building strategies.

 

At IIHS, Manoj leads technical assistance efforts for the ASSURE Program, a large-scale initiative focused on sustainable built environments, aiming to transform 100 million sq ft over five years. His expertise spans energy modelling, net-zero buildings, and advanced MEP systems, ensuring climate-responsive design and operational efficiency.

 

Beyond his core technical work, Manoj engages in industry collaborations, research, and capacity-building initiatives, advocating for resource-efficient urban development. He is also an active participant in professional forums, university engagements, and training programs, sharing insights on emerging trends in sustainable architecture and engineering.
