Kirthan Shekar’s interests lie in the theoretical and analytical aspects of built environment. His undergraduate thesis “City Ephemeral – Dynamics of an Urban Insert” tried to experiment with the temporality of an urban space and its role in the act of place making.

He enjoys the process of learning and unlearning different layers of cities. He intends to explore the significance of technological development in city design, particularly the tools that use data analysis and machine learning in simulating and visualising design, which he thinks, is the main characteristic of the defining decade. Previously, he interned in Flying Elephant Studio, Bangalore.

At IIHS, Kirthan is working with the campus development team. He provides support in ongoing design works like the Maker Center, assistance in documentation process of the campus development and converting it into a visual learning material.
