Kiran has worked in research projects sponsored by the Indian government as a junior research fellow at the civil engineering department of the Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering in Bengaluru and as a research assistant at the Siddaganga Institute of Technology in Tumkur.
He has presented five scientific papers at conferences and published 15 research papers in national and international journals. Also, he has completed several training courses and programmes, including four MOOCs on Sanitation, Water, and Solid Waste for Development given by EAWAG, EPFL, and WHO. For his contributions to waste management, he was awarded the Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship 2021 by the Indian government under waste to wealth mission. His research areas include waste management, waste to energy conversions, groundwater and surface water pollution.
At IIHS, Kiran is currently working for solid waste management and environmental services.
