Deeptha is an urban development professional with domain knowledge in land, spatial planning, urban administration and governance. Her master’s thesis being on analysing the role of Transfer of Development Rights in Tamil Nadu, she is keen on applying her technical knowledge to projects related to urban development.

While working in rural tourism, she undertook an independent short-term project to understand the impact of vocational training on the self-esteem of young uneducated women in villages. She believes that empowerment begins with exposure, and learning is indispensable for development. Ever since, she has been driven toward the cause of human capacity development in India. Deeptha hopes to explore the sectors of public health and education through the lenses of economics, gender, and social inclusion; and substantiate these through physical planning.

Deeptha is a Bharatanatyam dancer, sketches extensively and is a Type 1 Diabetes advocate.
