Anisha completed her PhD in Management from the University of Bristol in 2020 through the University of Bristol scholarship. Her doctoral thesis focused on the implementation of a teaching practice, Activity-Based Learning (ABL) in government primary schools in Tamil Nadu. Drawing on Management and Organization Studies literature, the study identified some crucial parameters like teacher training, daily classroom practices and adherence to ABL protocols that were critical for the implementation of ABL in schools in Chennai and Puducherry. Besides research interests in institutional change, practice change and education, Anisha has taken up teaching and administrative positions in schools in India and at a university in the UK. As a teaching assistant for a Post Graduate Taught (PGT) unit at the University of Bristol, she delivered and assessed the key learning material for the Marketing Management module.
Her current research focus at IIHS is on education and sustainable cities within the TESF project, and her work revolves around gathering and analysing primary and secondary data, the conceptualisation of reports and capacity building in relation to the project. In her free time, Anisha enjoys doing yoga, dancing, and learning various alternative healing and energy modalities. She has completed courses in Tera Mai Reiki, Bach Flower Remedies and Theta Healing.
