Amit Chandra is Chief Technology Officer, IIHS. He oversees the designing and managing of the delivery of cutting edge technology for the IIHS Campus at Kengeri, Bengaluru. Amit brings over 40 years of rich and diverse entrepreneurial, technology and global corporate experience in consulting, start-ups and managing large scale international businesses. Amit has been MD (India) and COO (Global Delivery) at Williams Lea Tag India. Prior to that, at Bank of America he was a Board Member, SVP & Global Delivery Leader. He has also been MD of Orange/France Telecom in India. As VP with General Electric, he undertook several roles in the outsourcing industry. As an entrepreneur CEO of Cygnet, a start-up focused on designing and manufacturing precision acoustic measuring instruments, Amit built a business to achieve the #1 position in the country. He also ran a niche technology consulting practice with assignments for UNICEF, NADA, TERI, the Baha’i House of Worship and Hero Honda. In 1988, he promoted and produced the Human Rights World Concert Tour, a six-week, 20-city world concert tour with five superstars: Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Tracy Chapman and Yossou N Dour. Between 1980 and 2000 he produced over 300 live concerts and international jazz and rock festivals and engineered concert sound.

 

Amit is trained as an electronics engineer. His interests are mountain sports, jogging, cycling, scuba diving, photography and music. He has donated his pictures and run a four-city exhibition, selling 400+ prints to raise funds for education of the girl child. He supports NGOs like Azad and CAPED for their Theatre for a Cause initiative.
