Ravi Ankush Jagtap is a passionate development professional with experience leading and implementing projects focused on sustainable livelihoods, natural resource management, and community empowerment. He possesses a strong foundation in research methods and data analysis and is skilled in project management, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement. At IIHS, he is working on the Research for Impact component of the Climate Change Local Adaptation Pathways (CLAPs) project, studying climate change and immobility.
As an Executive (Projects) at Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN), Ravi played a pivotal role in driving positive change in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, India. He led teams in implementing innovative solutions for integrated natural resource management, climate-resilient agriculture, and community-based organisations. Ravi also conducted research, analysed data, and developed training programmes to enhance the capacity of local stakeholders and government departments.
Ravi’s passion for development began during his master’s in development studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad. His research focused on understanding caste segregation and spatial inequalities in Indian cities. He was also actively involved in student leadership, serving as Councillor for the TISS Hyderabad Student Council.
Before his graduate studies, Ravi earned a BSc in Economics (2014–18) from Symbiosis School of Economics, Pune. There, he was elected to the Student Council in 2016–17, highlighting his leadership qualities and commitment to student engagement.
Besides work, Ravi likes to play chess and football. He also enjoys trekking, travel, and the opportunity to experience new cultures and perspectives.
