Nilanjana has worked as a Geo-Political Risk Analyst with MitKat Advisory Services Pvt Ltd where she analysed risk pertaining to businesses across India and other South-East Asian nations. She has published several articles at workplace as well online such as South Asia Monitor and Beyond the Borders. Some of her articles are “China’s Xinjiang Troubles- Authoritative Suppression May Face Uyghur Backlash”, Can China Balance Two World Powers”, “Dalits vs Thakurs in Saharanpur: Evolving politics of inter-caste conflicts” and “MCD Elections 2017”.
That apart her area of interest lies in India and China’s Foreign Policy and also about ethnic composition and migration in China. Her Master thesis was on Norm Making and Multilateralism on Chinese Foreign Policy in which she did a detailed case study on the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation focusing on its perception of Chinese threat in the Central Asian Region and also on the course highlighted the Xinjiang issue to a great extent.
At IIHS, she supports social media activities, media monitoring and analytical reports.
