Hansika supports the Practice team working with the Centre for Land Governance at IIHS. Her work focuses on land record management and associated e-governance initiatives including institutional policy questions on land ownership, use, reforms, titling and the political economy of land. Her work also addresses social policy questions including gender and caste based issues.
Prior to joining IIHS, Hansika worked with Magic Bus India Foundation, an NGO working towards empowering underprivileged children through Sport-for-Development framework Her work involved examining the linkages between lack of access to public services such as education, health and sanitation and school dropout rate. She also worked with the Environics Trust and SUTRA in Himachal Pradesh, studying development-induced social, economic and environmental impacts of the Karcham-Wangtoo hydroelectric power project in Kinnaur district, and Kol dam hydroelectric power project in Bilaspur district.
Hansika holds a master’s degree in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a master’s degree in Social Work from the Department of Social Work, University of Delhi, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Miranda House, University of Delhi.
