Abhilaasha has worked as a Research Associate in Centre for Urban Equity, CEPT University from May 2017 to December 2018. Though her primary area of research has been urban housing and informality, she has worked on projects including governance and land legislations in the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, Gujarat (in collaboration with University of Sheffield), mapping evictions ad resettlements in Ahmedabad, analysis of Ahmedabad’s Smart city CBD, peripheries and mobilities with University of Sheffield, MIDS Chennai and University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She has also assisted some courses in Faculty of Planning, CEPT University as a Teaching Associate. These include Urban Infrastructure project studio, Real estate and finance (Seminar course), Planning sustainable industrial zones (Summer school) and Navigating urban life and culture (Elective course). Her post graduate thesis was titled ‘Gender analysis of community spaces in planned residential neighborhoods: A case of Ahmedabad’ and it won the award for Best thesis on Gender based studies.
At IIHS, Abhilaasha is a part of the Tamil Nadu Urban Sanitation Support project (TNUSSP). She is an executive assistant to the team leader of the project. She is an avid traveler and loves digital doodling.
