Cyrus Guzder

Cyrus Guzder is the Chairman and Managing Director of AFL Private Limited. He led the introduction of international air courier services in India, through DHL Worldwide Express, which he headed for over 25 years. He served as a Director on the Boards of several companies, including Air India, Alfa Laval, Tata Infomedia, Tata Honeywell, Barclays Bank Local Advisory Board, BP India and others. He has also served as a Trustee of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly Prince of Wales Museum, Mumbai) and as the Honorary Consul General for Ireland – Mumbai and Western India. He was also the Chairman of CII’s National Committee on Transportation and Logistics. He currently serves on the Board of the Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited and the Administrative Staff College of India.

 

He co-founded the Bombay Environmental Action Group (BEAG), Mumbai, an active environment and heritage protection organisation, and set up the first chapter of the Indian Heritage Society in Mumbai and thereafter, the Mumbai chapter of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Foundation. He is also a Trustee of the Urban Design Research Institute (UDRI), The Asiatic Society of Mumbai and The MARG Foundation.

 

He graduated with a master’s degree (Hons) in Economics and Oriental Studies from Trinity College, Cambridge UK.
