Abstract

In the developing world, sustainable and ecologically friendly activities are becoming increasingly important. In recent times, academic institutions and higher education have played a significant role in encouraging these behaviours. The objectives of academic institutions have recently become increasingly in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this study, we investigate the use of environmentally friendly and sustainable technologies in academic libraries and how the libraries use digital technologies to cut down on paper use and create interior spaces that use less energy. In this paper we tried to include our observations and the practices that we implemented in our institute as well for a sustainable future. We tried to compile sustainable practices that can be used in libraries and included some recommendations that should be considered when establishing a new library.
