In a rapidly expanding urban landscape, large institutional campuses like the IIHS Campus at Kengeri provide green and blue spaces that can be maintained and actively developed as refugia for biodiversity. The first step towards this is to record the variety of existing life, understand the interdependence of those species, and anticipate and plan for the impact of climate change on their diversity and numbers.

This field guide represents a subset of the flora, from impressive trees to inconspicuous herbs and grasses, that are present on the Campus, their interesting ecologies, the ecosystem services they provide, and their distribution across the world. This guide will help any enthusiastic wanderer to have a glimpse of the unique natural history of the flora on the Campus that usually fades in the background.
