Shwetha Govindan is an intern with the Urban Informatics Lab, working on the Hungry Cities Project. In her master’s thesis, she re-examines theories of power and resistance through the lens of adivasi communities in India and their ecological struggles. She wrote her undergraduate thesis on the conceptions of citizenship and civic education in the secondary classroom. Her key areas of interest include Political Theory, Postcolonial Studies, History of Political Thought and Political Economy.

 

Prior to IIHS, Shwetha worked as a teaching assistant at the Political Science department at McGill University and was a research assistant at IIM-Bangalore.
