Santhosh Raghavan has a Masters in Environmental Health from Cyprus International Institute. His current interests are in urban sanitation and methods to scale up sanitation.

 

Santhosh is part of the Practice Programme at IIHS. His primary responsibility is to support the Tamil Nadu Urban Sanitation and Support (TNUSSP) programme on planning, engineering and implementation. Santhosh works on understanding the current sanitation situation through baseline studies and other tools and methods and provides the State or City options for improvement. He provides technical assistance to the two model urban locations for preparing sanitation plans; and implementation support along the sanitation value chain. One of his primary responsibilities is to support implementation of faecal sludge treatment plants.

 

In previous roles he has worked on energy and environment services including environmental assessment of coal-based power generation; municipal and industrial waste treatment systems – design, construction and O & M; agricultural energy and water demand management projects covering asset/ infrastructure mapping, energy and water efficiency project implementation; indoor and ambient air quality and its impact on human health.
