Sandeep believes that the practice of arts should not be divorced from socio-political realities of our society and has att empted to practice his craft in this manner. He worked as an IT consultant for two years, soon after he quit engineering to devote his energies in the pursuit of filmmaking. As a filmmaker, Sandeep has worked on films on varied subjects such as issue of child labour, landless labourers, subaltern labour in Bollywood, F water management in cities and Mumbai mill era. Some of his films have been screened in festivals in India and abroad. His film on MGNREGA worker’s rights has been awarded by the Government of India for being innovative in educating the MGNREGA workers. He has produced documentaries in Bhil and Pawri languages using participatory media approach. Sandeep holds a master’s degree in Media and Cultural Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. has research interests in labour rights, food, culture and invisible labour in film production. He has worked on media literacy for children in various regions of India.
