Iswarya works with the IIHS Urban Practitioners’ Programme team. She is an urban planner-architect and is engaged in curating Individual Capacity Building Programmes for government missions. Her work involves development of course content, research support and training on subjects such as urban and land use planning, urbanisation trends, housing and livelihoods in cities.
Iswarya began conducting research in the domain of urban transport and mobility during her postgraduation in City Planning at IIT Kharagpur. Her research interests include land use-transportation integration, informal sector and resilience, and impact of planning policies. Iswarya has presented on healthy cities, policies, green infrastructure and sustainable tourism development at International Conferences. She is an Indian Green Building Council Accredited Professional (IGBC – AP). She previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Manipal University and RV College of Architecture, where she taught post graduate students on transportation planning and theory of urban form.
Iswarya’s other interests include travel, writing and Tamil literature.
