Neelesh Kumar has worked with many organisations and government departments on issues related to livelihoods, pension schemes, PDS, education and entitlements like Voter ID cards etc. He has been part of many networks in India, working with them on projects such as homeless shelter, affordable housing, Right to Food and Right to the City through organisations.
At IIHS Delhi, he is interning with the Academics and Research team, working on upgradation of informal settlements and housing rights, basti field work, advocacy and documentation for legal cases.
His research area of interest is incremental housing in informal settlements and GeoSpatial mapping of slums in Delhi which has faced forced eviction.
His interest in drama has earned him a two-year certificate course from National School of Drama (NSD).
