Col Kunal Krishna (Retd) has joined IIHS after 24 years of military service. Kunal has worked in vast multitude of terrain and challenging tasks. He has extensive leadership and project management experience in infrastructure development and project management. He is alumni of number of prestigious institutions like National Defence Academy Khadakwasla, Indian Military Academy, College of Military Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Indian Institute of Management Mumbai. Apart from 13 years in combat engineering roles, Kunal is a structural engineer and has designed numerous complex military and civil structures, high rise tall residential buildings for the military. He has successfully led large infrastructure projects for military to include data centres, protective structures and transport infrastructure.

 

He has been awarded with appreciations and commendation cards to recognise devotion to duty. He has been awarded with Brig NB Grant Gold Medal for best published technical paper on design of sacrificial cladding against impact loads and Maj Gen Harkirat Singh Gold Medal for innovative execution of slope protection works in higher reaches of Uttarakhand. He has also tenanted appointment of Commander Works Engineers where he led four engineering divisions (Garrison Engineers) where his team executed number of infrastructure and residential projects. There he was instrumental in introduction of smart metering and solar power generation projects in multiple locations. Kunal has also led some of the strategically important projects of national importance in both project management and strategic planning roles. Kunal is now working at IIHS as Head of Campus Development and will lead the planning, development and execution of Campus Development ensuring that it reflects the institute’s vision of sustainable, resilient and state of the art campus with all modern amenities displaying excellence in urban practice.
