Juny K Wilfred is a visual designer, who graduated in animation from the Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay. He started out on an unconventional path, in the educational and developmental sector, working as a ‘Learning (resource) designer’ at Azim Premji Foundation, and later as a consultant designer at ICTS-TIFR.
At Azim Premji Foundation, his work spanned across media formats – digital learning resources, illustrations, print, film, photography, infographics, and the process from the ideation to the development of resources. His work also involved association with rural teaching communities.
Juny was in-house designer at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS-TIFR) for the past four years. He has also been a member of the school outreach initiative, involving developing classroom science resources, activities and their transaction.
Outside the formal boundaries of job, he has volunteered as teacher at monastery schools in Ladakh (1-2 months a year for 4 years). He practices sketching as a serious hobby, and has a keen interest in any form of arts – theatre, book making, photography etc.
