Biomedical Waste Management (BMWM) – “Normal to New Normal Strategic Planning and Approach, Preparedness and Way Forward

The amount of biomedical waste generated by various facilities treating COVID-19 and other patients has been rapidly increasing. The potential consequences of such high amounts of expulsion has prompted biomedical waste administrators to develop a working methodology and additional moderation measures to handle this unprecedented load of biomedical waste. Yet various questions exist in the minds of professionals and the citizens alike, such as:

  1. What are the challenges in managing COVID-19 biomedical waste in contrast to regular biomedical waste, especially in terms of regulatory amendments?
  2. What are the precautionary measures adopted by hospitals to prevent infection spreads with increasing patient numbers?
  3. What are the occupational health safety measures adopted in protecting and promoting health at the workplace?
  4. How have existing medical facilities upgraded to COVID-ready facilities structurally?
  5. How effectively is biomedical waste being treated and disposed during the pandemic?

This webinar aims to provide participants with insights on these questions, and a platform to understand more about biomedical waste management in times of crisis.
