Neelesh Kumar has worked with many organisations and government departments on issues related to livelihoods, pension schemes, PDS, education, and entitlements like Voter ID cards, for the past 10 years. He has been part of many networks in India, working on projects related to shelters for homeless, affordable housing, the right to food, and right to the city, through organisations.

 

At IIHS Delhi, he is an External Consultant working with the Academics & Research team, working on the upgradation of informal settlements, and housing rights, basti field work, advocacy and documentation for legal cases. His research interests are incremental housing in informal settlements and geospatial mapping of slums in Delhi that have faced forced evictions.

 

His interest in drama led him to do a two-year certificate course from the National School of Drama (NSD).
