Smitha has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. She also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur. Her areas of interest include organisational development, motivation, and women’s workforce participation.
In her earlier career in IT spanning more than 12 years, she worked in various roles involving team coordination, quality assurance, and customer support.
At IIHS, she currently supports the Urban Practitioners’ Programme in content research, content development and documentation. She has been involved in the rollout of internal training programmes as part of Learning and Development at IIHS. She has a keen interest in the story of India’s transformation from various perspectives, including the role of governance, policy, finance, technology, and entrepreneurship in the evolving trajectories of urban and rural India and the emerging continuum.
