Practice

Shalini is presently interning with the CARIAA-ASSAR team, working on the social and gender-related enablers and differentiators of climate change adaptation and vulnerability. Her research interests include the role of ICT in development and governance, the changing dynamics of gender in the context of globalisation as well as the role of the informal economy in development. She is also interested in the changing nature of interactions between the state, market and civil society, especially in developing countries.

 

 

As part of her Master’s dissertation, she has worked on the role of social mobilisation efforts on the level of benefits derived from e-governance programs by marginalised groups, women in particular. As part of her post-graduation, she has also worked on a short term consultancy project on the role of mobile learning in addressing systemic challenges in the education system with the Queen Rania Foundation, Jordan.
