Shalini works as an Assistant Librarian at IIHS, with over one and half years of experience. As part of the Library team, she is responsible for managing the databases and cartographic material sections in subscribing, accessioning, cataloguing and providing access to users. Further, she supports reference and information services for users in locating and accessing both the print and electronic resources available at the IIHS Library. Her other works includes collection development, tracking of IIHS faculty Research, Academic and Practice publications and updating on IIHS Google Scholar profile. She received her master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Mysore. Her areas of professional interests are Library Management, Collection Development in Digital Environment and Electronic Library Resources and Services. She has been familiar with Koha Library Management System for Library operations and repository systems namely Greenstone and DSpace. She has improved her knowledge on Library classification schemes (e.g. Dewey decimal classification) and cataloguing standards (e.g. Machine Readable Cataloguing and Resource Description and Access (RDA). Her hobbies are reading novels and writing.
