Abstract

Open access is a revolutionary way of providing access to the scholarly journal literature made  possible by the internet. The present study deals with open access journals accessible from Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) in the subject of Agriculture. The objective of this study is to analyse the open access journals published in various years, languages, countries and multidisciplinary subjects. The majority of journals are published by Indonesia (25.00 per cent); the large numbers of journals are published in English Language (119). It is further found that during 2012-2017, more number of journals has been published. It is recommended that developing countries like India should create an awareness to publish open access journals.
