Introduction

The Government of India is implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to provide every household with a functional household tap connection with a service level of 55 LPCD by 2024. The mission is to decentralise the system and empower the community, particularly women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs), to address their own water concerns while also monitoring water quality at the community level using Field Test Kits (FTKs). The study aims to learn more about the effectiveness of graphical illustrations as a communication tool for knowledge transfer and retention, to improve peer-to-peer learning and citizen science, and to aid informal education.
