The Trouble with Yards

Introduction
IT BEGAN WITH THE BIRDS. Arun may have never considered getting rid of his yard if the birds hadn’t turned up. One day, there was a leafy bush in the front yard. The next day, there was a small nest. Arun had no idea nests could be built so quickly. He was even more surprised when, a couple of days later, he found a pair of eggs in the nest. Clearly, he would be dealing with a family in his backyard. He had no idea how deal with birds. Birds were supposed to be forest creatures. To have a pair of them in the city, much less with eggs on his own property, was a problem. He had no idea what the chief would say about this. As far as he knew, the Chief’s rules made no room for the possibility of birds in the city.
