Introduction

Digital labour platforms, which offer workers opportunities for income generation, are characterised by a diverse set of business models and a range of marketplaces that cater to various economic sectors from transport, medical care to e-commerce. Through a series of primary interviews with digital labour platform companies, this essay examines how their platform business models map to differences in working conditions of platform workers, especially for women workers.
