Policymakers in India are increasingly focused on the critical importance of managing India’s urban transition to ensure sustainable and equitable development. Drawing on urban planning and policy, economic planning and development literature, and fieldwork carried out along the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor, this chapter raises concerns about the feasibility of such policies in the Indian context.
