Abstract

The issue of migration and human development is intimately related both within the national boundaries and across the national borders. However, studies on migration are increasingly undertaken on international migrants compared with internal migrants. It is now realised that the proportion of internal migrants – those who move within the national territory – is several times larger than those who move beyond national boundaries. This summary report contains the major findings and deliberations of the National Workshop on Internal Migration and Human Development in India.
