Subashini, an External Consultant for the IIHS-led TNUSSP, combines expertise in social research, community medicine, and psychiatry. Notably, she has conducted a dissertation on the prevalence of anxiety disorders among cancer patients at Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai.


She has actively participated in community health studies, including the Re-Orientation of Medical Education (ROME) for active case finding of tuberculosis and leprosy in Villianur, Puducherry. Her dedication extends to urban sanitation, demonstrated through a research paper on ‘Sanitation and Hygiene Practices in Urban Slums in Chennai’ during her undergraduate studies.


Beyond health, Subashini served as a fundraiser for Greenpeace India, contributing to environmental initiatives like climate change, energy revolution and sustainable agriculture. In TNUSSP-TSU, she is involved in demonstrating service models for the operation and management of community and public toilets (CT/PTs), emphasising their financial viability and sustainability.
