Satish was a Postdoctoral Fellow at National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), Tsukuba, Japan, and worked as faculty at various engineering colleges in Bhopal including MANIT for more than four years before joining IIHS.
Satish’s areas of expertise are in energy modelling, energy and emission analysis, co-benefit analysis and analysing decarbonisation scenarios in the residential and transport sectors. In the short run, he will explore the barriers to energy transition at the city level (specifically Bengaluru urban city) and set up examples for the data necessary for future analysis.
He was invited by NIES Tsukuba to conduct a workshop on ‘Low Carbon Asia Research Network (LoCARNet)’ at the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE), Hanoi, Vietnam. He has also delivered expert lectures at the National Institute for Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Bhopal on ‘AIM/Enduse energy model’. He was a part of the ISTE workshop at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, titled ‘Solar Photovoltaics: Fundamentals, Technologies & Applications’ conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B).
Sathish is a nature lover and enjoys travelling, meeting new people and making friends. He also loves playing badminton and table tennis, and card tricks, besides the unique art of book folding.
