An educator by profession, Samiksha has experience in diverse aspects of education, ranging from school education, teacher education, curriculum studies and sociology of education. She has worked as a teacher and teacher educator in primary level Mathematics with Jodo Gyan, where she was involved in conducting teachers’ orientation on activity-based processes, both offline and online (during Covid-19).


Samiksha is an Elementary Education graduate and holds a master’s degree in Education as well as Sociology. During her course of study, she did full-time teaching internships in various government as well as private schools and colleges. She has also interned with the Central Institute of Education Technology for e-content development of MOOCs (massive open online courses) under EPG pathshala and the Department of Curriculum Studies, NCERT.


Samiksha also actively volunteers with various organisations including CES (Centre for Equity Studies), Stranded Worker’s Action Network (a collective to support and connect relief to migrant workers stranded during the Covid-19 lockdown).


Her research interests are in education, gender, minorities and migration. Currently, her research focus at IIHS is on education and sustainability within the TESF-India project. Besides this, she is a dance, art, and yoga enthusiast. She is also fond of painting and photography.
