Gayathri holds a Master’s degree in Development Management from Madras School of Social Work. She has varied experience in urban development including housing, resettlements, sanitation and data governance. She worked as a Research Assistant at the Madras Institute of Development Studies, on a policy research project for the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission which focused on understanding the dynamics and determinants of affordable housing in Chennai. Prior to this, as part of Citizen Consumer and Civic Action Group, she worked on a data justice project in Ranchi where she supported community engagement through capacity building and social mapping.

 

Previously, Gayathri was an investment banker at PwC in Mumbai and has experience in business modelling, valuations and corporate finance.

 

At IIHS, Gayathri is a part of Tamil Nadu Urban Sanitation Support Programme.
