Aparna has over 6 years of experience working as a journalist and an editor for various media platforms including print and digital media. She has recently moved into the water sector and has worked on the Australian Water Partnership’s KINI Initiative with subject matter experts across the Asia-Pacific region. She has edited, and developed content related to integrated water management.
Aparna has also worked extensively with the International Water Association’s Specialist Group on Public and Customer Communication since 2016 and is a member of their Management Committee. She has assisted them in organising workshops at World Water Congresses, created newsletters, and engaged with water communications professionals across the globe.
Aparna’s research experience involves working on WaterAid PNG’s Sports for Development project. Her area of focus was to understand if sports could effectively be used as a medium to jointly promote safe hygiene practices, sports participation among women in rural communities and lead to development in communities across Papua New Guinea.
At IIHS as a Senior Associate, Aparna will be working on social media planning and outreach, developing content, creating reports, maintain information channels with various departments, media monitoring, newsletter creation, social media management, and offer organisational support where required.
