Ahona’s professional interaction spans over 30 years involving teaching, training and mentoring. Her journey has been an enriching one as it involved interaction with various kinds of individuals from students to applicants to patients to trainees.
She joined Calcutta Doordarshan in its founding days back in 1976. After a break of about five years she returned to teaching in schools. She spent considerable years helping applicants with visa procedures. She also worked in libraries, both in Kolkata and Bengaluru.
For Ahona, life’s lessons have been intense, impactful, profound and more inspirational than any classroom teachings. Ahona’s teaching experience began with language in senior schools and transformed into business communication when she entered the MBA Institutions. She has been a soft skills and communications trainer for over 14 years. Her core competence in training lies in the areas of patient care. Ahona’s most gratifying engagement has been dealing with patients on long term disease management as the National Head of Patient Care Team. She has worked closely with various pharma companies on compliance.
Ahona’s current role as a Lead in Communications gives her immense opportunity to interact with students and other young colleagues to discover and learn new, every day.
At IIHS she works on both traditional and new channels of communication and also organises Community Engagement programmes. Ahona’s interest in the urban leans more towards social spaces, which need instantaneous and continuous care.
