Humaira Bilkis is a Dhaka based filmmaker. Her interest in filmmaking revolves around creative treatment of actuality. She likes non-fiction as it liberated her to be a creative storyteller. After completing her graduation in Mass Communication she’s been into film making for the last six years. She also achieved her diploma graduation from Creative Documentary in Sri Aurobindo Center for Arts and Communication, Delhi. She worked as an associate producer in several international documentaries. She also worked with film makers in Bangladesh. Her first short fiction An almost perfect day (2012) has been well received in International circuit. Now she is more concentrating in to the non-fiction world and her first short documentary ‘We came walking’ (2014) was screened in ViBGYOR International Film Festival, Trissur, Kerala, India 2015. Her self-reflexive documentary ‘I am yet to see Delhi’ was acclaimed internationally. It’s been widely screened in India. It has been mentioned in special jury in New Asian Current category in Yamagata International Documentary Film festival, Japan, 2015. Now she is working on the tea community of Bangladesh who had been forcefully migrated from north India.
