Vimala is a M.Tech graduate in Environmental Engineering from the College of Engineering Trivandrum, Kerala. Her area of Interest is in environmental engineering, solid waste management, water supply engineering, wastewater engineering and air quality management. Her research during her post graduation explored methods to enhance the rate of biodegradation of polyolefins using physical and biological means.

 

At IIHS, she has been working as a Junior Specialist in the Engineering, Planning, and Implementation Support component for the TNUSSP project. She has been involved in the assessment study of Sewage Treatment Plants, decanting stations, environmental baseline studies, and review of detailed project report of Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant in Trichy City Corporation. She also provides technical assistance to the Capacity Building team.
